Pulse it for a quick chop texture; sometimes 2 pulses do it depending on what you want to chop large versus chop fine. Blend frozen fruits for a really smooth frozen drink. Be as creative as you want. The plastic bowls and pitcher are a high grade (thick) and lightweight plastic, and easy to clean. The blades are S-H-A-R-P and extreme caution should be taken when handling them. The power head is a bit heavier than I imagined but it does seat securely and is a whiz to clean. I think you'll be pleased with its performance and ease of use. The bowls are stack-able so should be easy to store away. I make fruit smoothies and vegetable protein drinks. Easy to chop vegetables for cooking. The best thing about this product is how easy it is to clean after using. Also, its very simple to use. If you want something thats quick and easy to use this is your product. I rarely use ice for the smoothies... I buy frozen fruits and vegetables and its perfect.
