5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed, May 2, 2012

I have to admit that I bought this to use for grinding up hard dog food. My little dog has a tendency to swallow her small bits of dry dog food whole. I have tried everything from putting cleaned large rocks in her bowl to the expensive dog food bowls with the raised center in them to soaking her food (which you have to remember to put it in to soak in water at least an hour before eating time) to slow her down. Nothing seemed to work. I had an Ultimate Chopper that I used for years but it finally broke and of course for some reason you cannot buy them anymore. I found this Chef Pro and it works great!! Just 4 pulses and her food is in tiny pieces that she can swallow without it making her sick. Thank you Chef Pro !!!

I recently began transitioning to a raw vegan way of eating and quickly realized my kitchen was ill-equipt for such an undertaking. A powerful little chopper was first on my list, and this one met my requirements; a powerful motor, no excessive parts and perhaps most importantly, a small footprint. I am pleased to report my expectations are exceeded. It pulverizes nuts, dried fruit, seeds and grains with relative ease, is easy to clean and is even kind of cute. I'm happy with my purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, still small, September 25, 2012

Good product overall. The motor is good. I wish I could use it like my parent's old food processor. Without spending several hundred dollars on one, this was probably the best one for the money. The processing area is still verrry small. It's definitely a mini! Can't make a good batch of pico de gallo or hummus in it without doing most things in small batches. But, since it works well, it's not too bad. One speed. Pulses only. So that's a drawback. But, it chopped up sticky dates well and moved to almonds without a problem. Overall, I'm happy with it for now--until we have the space and cash to get a large high quality one.
