The plastic the bowl is made of is very thick as is the metal of the slicing/shredding blades. I can see this lasting me decades. It's not so heavy that I can't put it away easily. It's fast too. It prepared soup ingredients in a jiff and salsa was so much quicker than in my retired mini-processor which has now become my nut chopper! The instructional video was ok, I would have preferred more detailed printed instructions, but the video had some interesting recipes on it. The storage container that this bundle comes with doesn't have space for the blades, but it's not a hassle to take them out and this container is more compact than the alternative one.
